The Mission
Lavender Files is a storytelling project dedicated to honoring the lives of the missing, especially those whose stories have been overlooked due to stigma, mental health struggles, addiction, or street life.
We believe every person has dignity, no matter their past. Our mission is to bring light to underreported cases with empathy, transparency, and respect. We do not sensationalize suffering or erase complexity. Instead, we focus on telling the full story, recognizing that no one is defined by a single moment or label.
Lavender Files was created to give voice to those who often go unheard and to remind the world that every life holds value and every disappearance deserves attention.
About the Creator
My name is Tonya, the creator behind Lavender Files. This work is deeply personal to me. As someone who has walked through my own journey through recovery and healing, I carry a deep awareness of the stigma and silence that often surround stories that involve those who may have been in a vulnerable or complex time in their lives.
Lavender Files is my way of turning that experience into purpose. Through respectful and honest storytelling, I aim to create space for victims who were judged, overlooked, or forgotten. I don’t claim to have all the answers. But I do believe that every person deserves dignity, and every case deserves to be seen with empathy and care.
On this site, you’ll find my YouTube episodes, case sources, and resources for those seeking support or advocacy.
If you're here, thank you for caring about the stories that often go untold. Your presence and compassion mean more than you know.
